Heavenly Baby

$15.00

Artist's book/zine/graphic memoir about a Russian family during the times of The Soviet Union and their family cat, Baby, who held the family together in dire times.

Heavenly Baby is a sequel to Pussy from Hell, but could be enjoyed separately too.

“Baby was sent to Earth in redemption for his mother, Pussy, and all the crummy deeds she had done. He was absolutely perfect: a desirable companion, half cat, half dog. There was certain goodness in him. Baby made sure that he spread his love evenly, and he tried to hide the fact that he favored our mother. He would watch over my sister and me as we fell asleep, and only then would he find his way to my mother’s bed.”

Created and handmade by Dasha Ziborova. Riso printed, first edition of 100. 28 pages, covers vary in color from book to book. 8"x10.5"

This book is hand-printed and assembled by the artist. It is printed on Risograph at Broken English Press in New York City.  Risograph prints one color at a time and destroys matrix after use, which makes editions limited, and each print is unique and slightly different. The result and technic remind of silk-screening process.
